Kimchi is a fermented side dish that is the staple of korean cuisine. The most common types are napa cabbage and radish, though there are in fact many more kinds of kimchi made from various leafy greens or root vegetables.

Each batch of volcano kimchi is brined, and then fermented in room temperature for several days, depending on the weather. Some people prefer young kimchi that is less fermented. Others like it sour. The ideal time, imho, is between 2-3 weeks fermented.

Before the class, your team will collaborate on design concepts and color choices, promoting communication and problem-solving.

On the day of the experience:

• Your instructor will prepare your canvas for you (your wall or multiple plywood boards)

• You will get an intro to mural work

• Your entire team will work on a wall together, coloring within your instructors' lines

By the end, you'll have a vibrant mural symbolizing your team's collective efforts and the lasting benefits of working together.

No wall? No problem! You will break into teams and paint on plywood boards. At the end, the team will put all the boards together like pieces of a gigantic puzzle. You can later assemble all the pieces together at your office to decorate your walls.

You don't have to wait for the holidays to decorate your space with a fresh wreath! This team-building class will help you bring a bit of nature into your office and home.

All supplies are provided, including fresh seasonal flowers and foliage!

Here is how this experience works:
The instructor will walk you through making your wreath step-by-step.
First, you will attach fresh seasonal foliage to the base of your wreath (which will be provided).
Next, you will decorate your green base with fresh or dried flowers.
Finally, you'll add ribbons and tiny toys to complete your wreath—whatever speaks to you!

This class is beginner-friendly. Believe it or not, everyone's wreath turns out perfectly beautiful at the end! Keep it for yourself or gift it to a friend.

It's time to step outside, try your hand at gardening and volunteer for a local non-profit that makes green spaces available to the public!

In this half-day experience, you will learn the basics of gardening: the soil, the seeds, and the process. Gardening is not magic. It's a science (with a pinch of patience). Anyone can master it. (No pitchfork required!)

What to expect

• 20 minutes - Arrival, sign-in (standard waiver), wash hands, name tags (please ask everyone to arrive early or on time and carpool if possible)

• 10 minutes - Introductions, learn more about our work in food security and environmental justice

• 30 minutes - Tour

• 90 minutes - Farm volunteering: we can accommodate all levels of interest, energy, and ability - it is important to us that everyone be matched with a project they feel good participating in. Possible contributions include:

Kintsugi is used as an analogy for people to practice resilience. Transform, and recover from past experiences. It can serve as an analogy for the duality of life, life’s tendency to both be incredibly beautiful and challenging at the same time.

Wabi Sabi, is the ancient Japanese art philosophy, of finding value in imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness. It invites a new perspective drawing on ancient Zen truth’s like non- attachment, impermanence, and awareness. As well as finding beauty in the insignificant, and unconventional, finding value in impermanence. And drawing inspiration from the incomplete.

In this intimate workshop, we have tea and introductions, and then we will break and restore your own teacup, provided by the workshop using modern Kintsugi techniques. We’ll learn the centuries old Japanese art philosophy Wabi Sabi, And reflect on thought provoking questions

Please bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and your open minds, we look forward to meeting you.

Note: Please be aware if you are bringing your own piece of pottery to repair, some un glazed clay bodies can be difficult to work with due to the textured surface.

Once we're all fueled up, it's time to hop into paddle boats or small rowboats. No worries if you've never paddled before—it's all about having fun and enjoying the ride around a beautiful, calm lake.

In this class you’ll be wood burning a wooden treasure box! Perfect for jewelry, knick knacks, love notes and buried treasure! All equipment is provided, and beginners are welcome.

Another option for this class is creating your own customized cheese board.

During this fun and interactive 2-hour session, you and your guests will have the opportunity to decorate 4 delicious vanilla sugar cookies.

To add a touch of knowledge and appreciation to your experience, your instructor Andrea will kick off the class by sharing a brief history of sugar cookie decorating, with a chance to win a sweet mini prize!

Andrea will then guide you through each step, from outlining to flooding and adding intricate details using royal icing. No prior decorating experience is necessary! All icings will be pre-made, bagged, and labeled for your convenience. You'll also be provided with a practice sheet to hone your piping skills before decorating your cookies, ensuring you feel confident and ready to create edible masterpieces!
